United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)

UNIDO was founded in 1966 in order to support the industrial development activities of developing countries and in 1967 activities in the Ankara Office were initiated.  In 1986, UNIDO was established as an expert of the United Nations.
Among Turkey’s current in progress UNIDO sponsored there are the Istanbul-based International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technology, the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, the United Nations Joint Project funded by the Spanish Government namely “Enhancing the Capacity of Turkey to Adapt to Climate Change” as well as the Industrial Energy Efficiency project funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
